Proper fit of all dog apparel is so important not just for looks but because clothes that are too loose can get tangled in legs or caught on objects creating a very real safety hazard for your dog. Clothes that are too tight impair movement, are uncomfortable and can even impair blood circulation.
We know that choosing the right size can also be difficult since all dogs vary in size and shape even within specific breeds. Sizes listed as "Small, Medium or Large" are simply initial descriptions to guide you. The only accurate way to select the right size for your dog is to measure.
It is so important that you measure your dog before deciding on which size of clothing will fit your dog.
A general rule of thumb is to select a size based on your measurements that match the most fitted part of the clothing. If your dog is at the higher end of the size range, we would tend to chose a larger size to accommodate weight fluctuations, hair growth and fur.
Remember that you should not add any extra inches to the measurements or the garment might not fit right.

Choose a size that fits the entire paw including the toe nails and excluding fur. A snug fit is best. Boots that are too large may slip off.
Measuring the paw is done by measuring from the front edge of the small pads to the back edge of the large pad. Toe nails are not included in the measurement.
PAWZ dog boots are designed to be loose around the foot while fitting firmly around the lower leg.
